Help Laura read!
I've started making a list of books I'd want to read while in the corps. You can see them here. While it is quite a list, I would love some input. English majors I looking at you.
For reference: I love food, adventure, Africa and the classics. I really like Sedaris, Flaubert, Marquez, De Beauvoir, Wilde, and ethnographies. I would also like books on automotive repair, history and travel. I would not like self help books, chick lit, fantasy or overtly political one. No Coulter or Moore, please.
So what else kiddies?

laura,
we will defenitly have to trade books while we are out there. i'm not certian how many/which i am taking, but i know i'm brining 'the world is flat' & 'the 9/11 commission report' b/c this may be the only time i actually can sit down long enough to finish them. if you love the outdoors you should totally bring some hemmingway as well...i'll bring a few of his.

I like Hemingway, but he is definitely a little to macho for me to relate to. I like Steinbeck much more. I would love to trade books. I think my boyfriend is going to spend a small fortune buying and shipping me a small library so I'll definitely have a few to spare.

Okay just the fact that you have Ulysse on there means you'll be set for at least an entire month. I personally have never finished it, and aspire to, one day, before I turn 40.
Oscar Wilde's children stories are lovely, and I'm a fan of Anthony Burgess everything. British writers make me hot.
This is Mandy, btw, a girl who'll soon get that much coveted Bachelor's degree in English.
